Grandma’s House

I got a text last night in the family chat

Grandma’s selling her house- already knew that

And they took photos for the buyers page

I looked at every one with a blurry gaze

The weirdest part

Was to watch her have to go restart

What’s really hard is growing up means growing apart

I couldn't sleep last night, tried the usual hack

Found my happy place- dialed five years back

Dad moved away last May from the first home I had

With every little change, I've started to lose track

The weirdest part was to watch him have to go restart

What’s really hard is growing up means growing apart

Learning all the ways to take out a knot in your throat

Learn how to cope

You need to say something you don't wanna hear

They don't need to know

Hold your tongue and go home

You don't have to grow

Watch another show and shut your eyes

It's a soft spot, avoiding the deep talk

The weirdest part was to watch us have to go restart

What’s really hard is growing up means growing apart
