Hi, I’m Ava Ashlynn! An indie-folk artist raised in Austin, TX, now based in New York City. I’m someone who always says exactly how I feel, and that comes out in my songs through hyper-specific and straightforward lyrics surrounded by complex arrangements.

My debut EP, A Place I’ve Never Known, came out this August, shaped over the last five years, inspired by a lot of change. I started writing it about two years after my mom passed away, while I was adjusting to life in New York.

Before she died, she told me to make music that makes people want to “fall in love.” This project… might be the opposite of that—sorry, Mom! It’s an ode to heartbreak in every way. Heartbreak from moving, being homesick for the people you love and have lost, and all the growing pains that come from leaving childhood behind.

I hope when you listen, it comforts something in your inner child, like it did for mine to write it.
